Read between the line...we have to pay more and the IPP getting more I persume. The middle income family will have to fork a little extra from their pockets to cover the tariff hike announce today.
I wondering if I can find cheap and green solar panel installer to my new house as a long term solution. But base on my survey in the net, Malaysian still far behind on this technology and have very limited numbers of supplier to cater the demand.
The government should encourge house owner to have solar panel install into their properties to reduce the dependency to the grid.
TNB Berhad's president Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohamad said the new tariff would be calculated based on the amount of usage above the 300kWh level that would see bills increasing from 0.1% up to 10%.
He cited an example where those who had been using 200kWh to 300kWh a month would still be paying between RM43.6 and RM77 in electricity bills.
“If they exceed this, for example to 1,000kWh a month, then their bills would be calculated based on the new tariff,” he said during a special briefing held at TNB's headquaters here yesterday.
He cited an example where a domestic consumer who used to pay RM181.19 to RM259.2 for using between 601kWh and 800kWh a month would now be paying RM199.23 to RM285.10 instead.
